Market House Museum is Open

Market House Museum is Open

Have you heard? The museum has reopened again following a long closure, they're back.

A treasure trove of St Austell memorabilia and home of the very first police cells in the town, well worth a visit.
If you don't know about the museum, its run by volunteers of the Old Cornwall Society who take up residence in part of the Market House every year.

All summer long they exhibit carefully looked after artifacts and historical information which stay on display throughout the season.
Lookout for their new exhibits too, like the original Woolworths door sign.

Locals and visitors alike are welcome to call in and learn all about St Austell in days gone by. We're so glad to have them back with us once again.

How do I find the museum?
Stand facing towards the front of the market house, the museum door can be found to the right of the main front door. Look out for the sign on the fence in front of the old Hop and Vine.

Opening times are: Monday to Friday 10:30 to 4pm and Saturday 10:30am to 1:30pm. Closed on Sunday.
