St Austell Market House Inclusive Access Statement
St Austell Market House CIC is committed to ensuring equal access and participation to all and are currently taking positive steps to explore how we can make reasonable adjustments to ensure inclusive access to the building. As a priority, the Board of Directors are seeking professional guidance with regards to adjustments to any physical features, the requirement of additional services such as; a portable hearing loop and how to unlock funding opportunities to support the capital investment required to ensure we provide equal access for all.
As the Market House is a listed building - under the terms of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act (1990) consent is required for any works of demolition, alteration or extension that will affect the character of a listed building, including any associated structures and fittings within its curtilage. We will work with the necessary organisations to obtain the appropriate approvals which may apply in the case of changes made to improve access.
